Job Description
Title: Snowflake Data Engineer
Duration: 8 Months (Potential to Hire)
The Data Engineer Consultant has the following responsibilities and duties:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable data processing solutions using Snowflake, ETL tool Talend, and other relevant tools (e.g., Alation, Manta, Atacama, PKWare, Protegrity) as part of Data Quality and Data Governance initiatives.
  • Optimize performance of data processing workflows to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various data sources and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data processing workflows and best practices.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of code quality and development practices ensuring Data services are reliable and scalable. Conduct rigorous code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data processing and performance.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in big data and analytics.
  • Participate in the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance data processing capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic data plans and roadmaps for the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Effectively communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills in resolving technical challenges.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and departments.
  • Showcase proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data solutions to meet business needs.
The Data Engineer Consultant should have the following skills, education and experience:
Skills
Required:
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable data processing solutions using Snowflake and Talend
  • Experience with SQL and Python, PySpark skills using Spark framework.
  • Experience with Data warehousing and real time systems.
  • Experience with data quality and data governance.
  • Expertise in working with efficient Data Models in a big data ecosystem.
  • Problem solving and Analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with onsite team and client stakeholders
Preferred:
  • Python
  • Apache Hadoop
  • Scala
  • Apache Spark
Education
Required:
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, information technology or other related disciplines.
Preferred:
  • Master’s in computer science, engineering, information technology or other related disciplines.
Experience
  • An experienced professional will have at least 3 years of professional experience in a data-related role with a master’s degree or 5 years of experience in a data-related role with a Bachelor’s degree.
