We are currently looking to build out our team with highly motivated individuals who are focused on quality and who excel in an agile environment. You’ll be working with a skilled team of developers and security architects to build and deploy highly scalable applications to On Prem Datacenters and Cloud. The team is responsible for executing ‘Security-As-A-Service’ strategy – Design, Build and Rollout APIs and automations for critical RBC Security platforms and processes. Applications across RBC consume these APIs to embed security best practices within their applications. The role involves coordination, development, communication and execution to ensure objectives are accomplished on time and meeting intents. In this role, you will be a developer within the Security DevOps and Automation team, responsible for designing and implementing software solutions across multiple platforms.

What will you do?

You will work in an Agile manner with our consumers, security architects, and a team of developers to deliver applications, APIs and automations for critical Cyber Security platforms and processes.

Create, design, analyze, develop and debug

Perform unit testing for the developed objects

Prepare technical design document of the development

For production problem tickets, determine root-cause analysis and provide options for solution

Manage risks, assumptions and constraints and communicate to appropriate parties

Build and maintain deployment pipelines to OpenShift, AWS, Azure or PCF

Containerize and deploy applications

Integrate security products with existing infrastructure and deployment pipelines

Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance

Design and build Cyber Security applications for scalability and resiliency

Integrate applications with our SIEM systems for alerting and reporting

Able to effectively prioritize the demands for tight deliverable deadlines and high-quality on software

Participate in strategy and brainstorming sessions for software-specific initiatives

Establish strong working relationships across various business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.

Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of junior technical development staff

Leads complex group meetings (including business partners) for technical design, decision making, problem solving, implementation and strategic planning

Support the integration projects through various phases from gathering business requirements to go-live and post-implementation support

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

Proven experience in leading development team on large projects or programs interfacing with multiple applications and/or third parties

3+ years of experience with python development

Proven experience with agile delivery methodology and governance

Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Solid grasp of object-oriented principles.

Experience with web application frameworks such as Django, flask or FastAPI

Experience with Source Code Management system such as GIT

Experience with DevOps such as Jenkins

Experience with OCP, Azure, AWS, Webservices (SOAP and REST)

Middleware technologies (ex. MQSeries/Kafka, Redis)

Nice-to-have

Understanding of Docker and other containerized platforms

Experience with AWS or Azure

Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience in cloud engineering and deployments

Motivated and analytical, with strong achievement orientation and attention to detail

Solid understanding of Cyber Security practices
