This is a green field project to build a brand-new system to serve our corporate clients. You will work collaboratively with vendors and manage front to back functions to ensure projects objectives are achieved. You will be heavily involved in shaping the future technology landscape of RBC, by delivering key business values for a transformational project in our Banking Technology while implementing strategic components servicing across all RBC functions defined in our roadmap.The Senior Lead Data Architect will be responsible for the overall data architecture of multiple Cash Management workstreams. You will accomplish this with team work and collaborate with application development teams, business stakeholders and other lead architects to ensure solutions are aligned to business and technology strategy.  With a can-do mind set, you will resolve architectural problems in a structured and systematic manner.  You are not afraid of challenging the team on technical details and be able to think functionally.**What will you do?**Provide expertise in (DA) activities, systems and applications, including extract-transform-load (ETL), OBIEE, DBMS and SQL (systems and tools) utilization. Develop (DA) processes including dimensional database design and architecture, data modeling, metadata repository and change management in complex projects. Analyze business needs and translating them into data integration roadmaps, data models and OBIEE solutions. Oversee (DA) project activities, ensuring that all activities are in compliance with existing strategies, standards and processes. Take ownership of Key architecture decisions. You will author important architecture decisions (ADs) ensuring thorough reviews by all stakeholders.  You will organize and lead the review of ADs through all levels of architecture governance including CM, P&CB and when required Enterprise Architecture forums. Provide leadership and direction for enterprise data strategies including Strong skills in data management: data modeling and db design, DWE/Big data Solution Architecture, data integration, data movement and replication, business intelligence, data quality, reference and master data management, data governance Provide DW/Big data Solution Architecture expertise Provide leadership and direction for integrating and rationalizing data design within RBC’s Data Management Environment, promoting reuse and quality Promote the goals of data integration, data stewardship, data quality and governance. What do you need to succeed?Must-have10+ years of experience in IT specifically in Data Solutions Architecture. Hands-on implementation experience working with a combination of the following technologies: Hadoop distributions, Storm and Spark streaming, Kafka, Spark advanced analytics, NoSQL data warehouses such as Hbase and Cassandra, data processing frameworks Experience in designing and implementing big data solutions. This includes creating the requirements analysis, design of the technical architecture, design of the application design and development, testing, and deployment of the proposed solution Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Nice-to-haveExperience with patterns and technologies in emerging areas: Big Data, Hadoop, Hortonworks, Aster, NoSQL databases, Visualization tool, Advanced Analytics, BI Virtualization, Cloud etc. Financial services experience in at least one of the following domains : client data, deposits, retail investments, card systems Strong skills in data management: data modeling and db design, DWE Solution Architecture, data integration, data movement and replication, business intelligence, data quality, reference and master data management, data governance Expertise in database integration patterns and performance considerations for operational and DWE databases Experience in APIs, Micro services and Event Based Architectures Domain Knowledge in financial services platforms and enterprise functions (e.g. Banking, Insurance, Investments, Wealth Management, AML, Risk, Finance, Fraud etc.) Experience with Vertica or other MPP databases Experience with Java/Python/functional programming **What’s in it for you?**We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
